Kate Glenn

Kate Glenn (b. 1988, Rochester, NY) has lived many lives. At present she is a queer, feminist, polyamorous, cinephile and interdisciplinary artist with four cats, residing in Glasgow. Her work explores vulnerability through emotional and physical processing. Embracing the impossibility of a complete truth past the ephemeral moments of her life, she stubbornly attempts to recreate and reinvigorate potentially life shifting moments. Mirrors, camera phones, and social media are all spaces for reflection on the present and past in her work and life. The efforts to share are sincere and generous but perhaps tainted by the nature of intimacy mediated through screens.

Using a CMYK method of printing I converted one of my BeReal images into a four layer print and had a separate screen with the photo information taken from my iPhone. This was a day I was in the office I was working in and about to start outlining notes to talk to my therapist about before a session, when the app BeReal prompted a picture to be taken. This was one of my experimental, misaligned prints.
