Will Sibley
he/him

In my work, I aim to explore institutions from the inside out, investigating the systems and rituals we partake in. My interest in institutions began while at art school, but is informed by my work and volunteering in museums, academia, and art fairs since graduating. Although I work across photography, video, and textiles, my work is underpinned by text, and I adopt a research-as-practice approach. Despite the themes of dissent, I always aim to approach my research with love and affection, and I strongly believe in the power of humour and frivolity.
what does still here mean to you?
As a trans man, "Still Here" is a declaration of resistance. Facing lack of visibility, lack of access to healthcare, and withdrawal of our rights over recent years, our resilience is an act of defiance. My work is rarely often about being trans, but my identity is fundamental to all my work. It is about not only surviving as a trans man, but growing and learning to thrive.
