Valentina Crolla( b. 2002, in Edinburgh, Scotland) lives and studied BA(Hons) painting at Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh, Scotland, Uk. Valentina’s work mostly expanding through drawing and paint, depicts figures and imagined interiors, looking for the moments unsaid and unseen. Somewhat biographical she likes to view her work as diary entries, digging into the skin of her shame and desires in search of truth. Valentina is interested in portraying feelings surrounding shame, identity and gender and how they can affect your sense of time and surroundings, often leaving you feeling trapped and paralysed within your own body. Her work actively resists that narrative, through bright colour and bold imagery, pushing through the anxieties of being seen, demanding attention.
