Redacted is a self-taught, multidisciplinary visual artist whose work draws from autoethnography, lived experience and academic research to tell stories that feel direct, accessible and relatable. The artist pen name, Redacted, is taken from the term used to describes documents released and declassified by the state. Redaction obscures sensitive details. Blending theory with pop culture references, Redacted creates bold, visually striking work that invites audiences in, exploring "the unseen, unspoken and unexpected stories that lie beneath and between written words”. A direct rejection of elitism whilst making space for wider engagement with art and ideas.
