Hana Amaya is a singer, songwriter, and trumpet player exploring the space between softness and intensity. She writes freely, pushing past both genre and expectation, leading with instinct. In both genre, sound and topic, her music finds a home in borderlessness. She is an Artist in Residence at Camden's Roundhouse, has received airplay on BBC Radio 6 and 4, and her latest track ‘Give It Back’ was featured on Bandcamp’s weekly selects. All within a year of her debut, Hana Amaya is one to watch.
what does still here mean to you?
Despite the way various countries have laws and policies against queer people, we are here and will always exist. As often queer people have to 'mask' a lot to fit in better, I want to make music that sounds like this unmasked behind doors space, that's what psychosomatic sounds like!
