Today we’re sharing something really special with you.
GXRLS MAKE GLASGOW: From Fragments to Festival is officially live.
This film captures a moment in time for Flos Collective - a snapshot of the energy, care, chaos and collaboration that goes into building something like SPLINTR Festival from the ground up.
But more than that, it’s about the people.
Why we made it
Flos has always been about creating space - for women, trans and gender-diverse artists to make work, take up space, and be seen on their own terms. But so much of what happens behind the scenes can feel invisible.
What the film shows
Filmed by the amazing Ella Field, GXRLS MAKE GLASGOW follows the journey from early ideas through to the reality of SPLINTR Festival.
It brings together:
The voices of artists and collaborators
The process behind building a grassroots festival
The community that holds it all together
It’s about what happens when people come together to make something that doesn’t already exist.
A love letter to grassroots
This film is really a love letter - to the artists we’ve worked with, to the community that shows up for us, and to the wider scene in Glasgow that makes this kind of work possible.
It’s also a reminder that none of this happens in isolation. Everything we do is collective. Every event, every project, every moment of growth is shaped by the people around us.
Thank you
To everyone who’s been part of this journey so far - thank you! Whether you’ve performed, attended, supported, collaborated or just followed along, you’ve helped make this possible.
This is just one chapter.
More to come.
